To a man, they said no to an LSU-Bama rematch, but a resounding yes to a Saints-GB rematch. Steve Young, thinking about LSU-Bama, said he'd rather stick a fork in his eye than watch that again. Sure, he doesn't appreciate great defense, even though he said he did. Who cares, right? Right. But these media types are going to spend a good part of the week poo-pooing the idea of an LSU-Bama rematch. Just keep watching. Not surprised Saban came out today with his "Crimson Blazer" trying to lobby the world on giving Bama another shot. :geauxtige
The drama continues. I love the fact that we can enjoy the 9-6 OT game, but pro analysts can't. Personally, I think the die-hard football fans can appreciate the defensive and offensive struggles, but the die-hard offensive guys can only appreciate a shoot-out or moderately scoring game. Wouldn't trade our style of play for any other team's.
The 9-6 OT game was a thing of beauty. However, I think a rematch would be another slugfest but more in the 21-17 range. A rematch for the Saints at Lambeau (again) against a potentially undefeated Packers team for the right to go to the Super Bowl with Drew Brees on my side? Yeah, I'll take dat. Nothing better than the underdog role at the highest stakes.
