so this might need to be in the nfl section but it does have to do with hill on the bengals. Wow man I want to cheer for this guy but from the bar fight to the shit he has been talking on the field. Then you have the fans throwing trash on the field and the absolute uncalled for hit shoulder to the head to get a 15 yard call penalty (terryp would say he went for he ankle here I'm sure) then another 15 yard penalty for not being able to control yourself. Man I guess things could always be worse we could be Bengal fans. This was hard to watch, although I did love watching that little bitch aj lose.
Yes, we are talking about this in the NFL forum so it will probably be moved. I would have thrown stuff on the field after the Bengals were called for hitting Steelers in the head and nothing was called when Benard was hit in the head. The NFL is awful. I am talking about many games I have watched this year. No one knows what a catch truly is then you have games were penalties are thrown for hitting guys in the head and then some are overlooked. Like I said in the other thread, not making excuses for the Bengals or players with bad reputations or "problem" players. I just thought if you hit someone in the head, helmet to helmet, it would be called fairly for both teams, this game and many others included.
That's the thing though. No one cares about Giovani Bernard, he doesn't put asses in seats. Antonio Brown does. Hell you can't even look at Aaron Rodgers without getting flagged. The rule was designed to protect the players that put asses in seats and keep people watching. The franchise guys. Which is why to me the NFL is so ridiculous. Bounty gate and lawsuits and the NFL supposedly cares about player safety, but won't back concussion research because the person leading the research was critical of the league. The whole thing is a joke. Roger Goodell is the worst commissioner any sport has ever had. Don't know what a catch is, dont know what a penalty is. You get flagged for celebrating but not for holding. That being said. The Burfict hit was malicious. There was intent because Burfict is a thug. Plain and simple. They didn't even say anything about Pac Man punching a steeler player on the last kick return. Cincinnati got what they deserved, their fans got what they deserved. Rarely do the football gods do the right thing. They did tonight.
i'm playing nfl fantasy for playoffs top 4 fantasy players at RB are 1-Spencer Ware 12 pts 2-Jeremy Hill 11 pts 2-F. Toussaint 11 pts 4-Alfred Blue 9 pts
Reading a little history on Bufrict. His junior season at Arizona State, in a game against Stanford, Burfict grabbed Doug Baldwin's face mask, then was tacked on another PF for complaining to the refs giving Stanford a 1st down at the ASU 7 yard line, 2 plays later, Stanford scored the game winning TD. Dennis Erikson benched him. He went undrafted, because teams were afraid of his baggage. He blamed Sun Devils coaches for him not having a great junior season. He has a history of hitting defenseless receivers and even punched another player in the groin. He has been fined for intentionally twisting the ankles of players after the play was over. He was also fined for an intentional low hit on Big Ben which injured him earlier this year.
Cincinnati fans deserve all the pain and heartache they are experiencing and then some after watching yesterday's game. They are competing with Philly fans as worst in the NFL. I'm just glad the Steelers won so that my two objectives of these playoffs of having Peyton Manning (and Cam Newton) go one and done comes to fruition. We'll have to see if Big Ben or Brown even plays in that game. It will be a shame if they don't. Let's go Seahawks. You hold to key to the Newton meltdown. I need to see that towel draped over his head and him not showing his face after the game is over.
You know, the more I think about last night the more I think Marvin Lewis coached his last game in Cincinnati. You are already in Field Goal range. Take 3 knees, make Pittsburgh use all 3 time outs, kick the field goal, and then the Steelers have to score a TD with around 35 to 40 seconds left. The field is wet, the ball is wet, why even risk a turnover right there? I'm not trying to downplay Hill's fumble, because his antics last night were embarrassing too, but I'm not sure he should have been given the opportunity to turn it over. But even so he still has to hold onto the ball. On the Landry Jones interception, 2 things. If Burfict hadn't been touched, which he was, but if he hadn't how funny would it have been when he ran out the back of the other endzone giving the Steelers a 1 point lead. And 2, if he would have just kept running to the locker room and stayed there the Bengals would have won.
you can't take three knees starting at the 28 yard line and then take a chance at missing what would have been a 51-52 yard FG, I would have had Lewis castrated had he chosen that route Let's give credit where credit is due, it was a tremendous play by Shazier with the rather violent stripping of the ball. Sometimes you just tip your cap to the opposition.
Take 3 knees and punt then. The Steelers weren't going to score. You're right though if he'd have done that and failed he'd be skewered too.
