Is it just me or ever since the No Fun League started trying to be "safe", more people have gotten injured?
You're right. Defenders are so scared that they're going to get a penalty, fine, or both for tackling high and hitting backs or WR in the head, that now they're going low (by necessity) which is resulting in a lot more knee injuries. It's so ridiculous. You can't legislate the physicality out of the game. I mean, the blatant stuff - yeah, but how many times have we all seen a ticky tack or borderline hit that really had no negative impact on the play- get called for a personal foul.
I've stopped complaining about officiating when we play Alabama or Auburn because we have to know going into those games to expect shitty calls going against us. I expect it now. But the NFL sucks because I have 6 fantasy football players this year who have sustained season or multiple week injuries. I'm not going to play anymore because of it.
