Yes and no...think about how much it would take to orchestrate something like that. (a couple of Scouts for an individual team(s), getting together to try and dis someone enough to lower their stock so they could grab em?) in addition to combine numbers? (would probably be possible for a couple of well connected scouts to spread some unfavorable opinions about a player).

How's that for expressing a split mind about something;)

That said, I think you make a great point about the NFL being a business, and none of us should forget that when discussing the draft. there are cutthroat practices and unscrupulous men at work, it's bound to happen, right?

You mean like hiring a PI to follow around the potential first pick.

Not too hard at all in my opinion. An owner who the obvious pick went to mentioning taking another player instead and the fact that they would appear to be bumped to next round would accomplish that, I would assume.

They'd have to be careful and discreet about it, choosing words wisely. I'm just throwing that out and making an ignorant speculation cause I'm not real familiar with neither the NFL draft nor do I keep up with the NFL, for that matter.

Sorry for the ambivalence tiga...i was sorta agreeing with you...i had had a few beverages when i posted that and for whatever reason thought the best way to express my mixed feelings was a little stream of consciousness. The NFL is a business and as such is subject to shady things like that happening probably a lot more than any of us would like to know about. just another reason to prefer the college game, though not pure by any means, a lot better than the NFL in that respect.

In reality, you probably hit it right on the head...

Ali just lost a spot or two after Tavares Gooden's' Pro Day today. He ripped off a 4.5/40 and a 39" vertical. Word is that he looked very fluid.
