    Not from Big10/Pac10/Big12 fans.

Kinda like running for political office. I had a friend who was close to a candidate from Cameron who was running for State Representative (Years back). He spent a lot of time with him on the road, functions, etc. One day during the campaign he mentioned this guy winning and I told him point blank the guy couldn't win.

He later told me, after his guy loss by a landslide, he was disbelief at the time and still couldn't understand. I explained to him that he hung around with the candidate, attending functions with the candidate where his supporters were gathered, plus most knew my friend was working close with said candidate so all he heard were props for his man.

Same principle when it comes to football/conferences. Also why I believe visiting forums outside of our conference can open eyes to a lot of things. Just one example, it's amazing how conferences perceive others as being "Media darlings".

No, but the media was all over the SEC's jock this year. Lots of talk about SEC speed. After the BCS CG, the National Sentiment was that we were faster and stronger than OSU.

Now, some of these same guys are getting "labeled" as slow and "not physical enough".

I take it as a compliment. If someone feels the need to "talk down" these guys, it usually means somebody thinks pretty highly of them. If not, no one would even mention their names.

People, we all know that the only write up that matters now is that of the NFL scouts. The know nothing writers will skew alot of players' abilities but in the end the writers do not make a teams draft choice. Besides, if any of the scouts are looking only at combine numbers to determing which player(s) to draft, there is a chance that I dont want my favorite players going to the organization in the first place.

Makes a lot of sense. Need to take a huge chunk of salt when it comes to the media, including ESPN:D. I will trust that the pro Scouts know what they are seeing.
One example is Michael Clayton. I remember his forty times were not blazing, but he still got drafted first round, if my memory was correct.

    Yes indeed.

Think about it like this, if you're about to buy a new car- the car salesmen selling is going to analyze your needs so he can lie about the selling price being a deal when he's actually got a good idea (If he's a good salesmen- the best one's are scrupulous blood-suckas) and try to phuck you out of every dime he can to up his commision; whereas, you're going to argue and try to say you saw it here for . . . and priced it here for . . . to get a better/lower selling price.

Ever think some of those seeds are planted for intentionally knocking players in the draft down so any given team can have a chance at them?
