He will be the 1st DL taken and will not drop out of the top 4. So unless Ellis blows the minds of the NFL scouts Dorsey will most definetely be the 1st DL taken.
He did just that at the Senior Bowl. Sed is also participating in the Combine and will obviously be at USC's Pro Day. At this point, and not taking ANYTHING away from Dorsey, the main thing that will keep Sed from going 1st is his size. He's not as big as most NFL guys in the position but he is REALLY versatile and has a motor that does not quit. Either way, whatever teams end up with these men will be getting major talent.
He did make an impression but not enough of one to make him a solid top 3 pick yet. According to almost every mock draft as of now Dorsey is front of Ellis and Long in all of them. Not saying that can't change but Ellis still has some work to do and without Dorsey of the Combine Ellis and long can make up ground. I expect Dorsey to solidify his spot at the LSU camp and will not drop out of the top 3. The top 6 picks IMO will be Dorsey, Long, Long, Ryan, McFadden, and Ellis in no particular order. Much will have to do with what kind of trades happen along the way that effect the draft order.
Agreed and to that end ESPN draft analyst McShay said there are six guys who are worthy of the top overall pick in this draft: Long, Arkansas running back Darren McFadden, Virginia defensive end Chris Long, LSU defensive tackle Glenn Dorsey, Southern California defensive tackle Sedrick Ellis and Boston College quarterback Matt Ryan. Mike Mayock has Long as the #1 DE and Ellis as the #1 DT, with Dorsey #2. I am curious as to what additional work you think Ellis has to do? He absolutely showed up BIG at the Senior Bowl and week and imagine he'll repeat the same at the combine and pro day. His biggest drawback is size and I don't think he's gonna' get any bigger.
BINGO! I didn't say it WILL happen...but to say it's not possible is crazy. IMHO, there's a 50% shot Long goes before Dorsey...at least.
at least 50% so your saying he has better shot than Dorsey. It could happen but in all likely hood Dorsey will be the first D line man taken
IMHO,(you conveniently left that part out), he DOES have a better shot than Dorsey. Sorry, but 6'1" ain't gonna help GD. Don't take it the wrong way, I love Dorsey, and believe he'll be a BEAST wherever he goes. But size is a hindrance...period.
We are on the same page and I was just pointing out how close the top 6 guys are and how everyday counts from now until the draft. Not trying to imply he is not going to perform to his potential at all, vball.:thumb: I would say that pro day is the most important day leading to the draft and I think Dorsey is making the right move waiting to showcase himself to scouts which probably have seen him many times already.
Height isn't that much of a factor at DT. At DE, they care a lot about that. But for Defensive tackles, the tape measure doesn't go from head-to-toe, it goes around the waist . And that's one Dorsey will always ahead of the pack on
