What does that have to do with what I am talking about?

A combine is to measure different attributes in a setting with scouts. They are not putting them in game type situations etc... JJ actually had one of the better performance of all the LSU players in the drills. I will link the actual data Glenn should have used to create an article. He was lazy once again.

From here LSU will have a pro day with more of the same drills and more passing.

Then some teams may invite the potential draftees to come workout and test them with the club.

He may not be drafted . I think it is more likely a free agent signing after the draft. Well at least that is the word going around after the combine. Some are saying he could be drafted but way too early to tell because they are only 1/3 of the way in the pre draft testing.

Some of the numbers may be off because official times might not have been entered yet. But as you can see GG was way off because he is no where near the bottom after putting up those numbers.

Jordan Jefferson is one dumb phuck kid.

He tweeted after all was said and done at the combine:

"I wonder what Mike Detillier's got to say about the combine now."

Mike Detillier had commented prior to the start of the combine that he was surprised Jefferson was even invited to participate.

No I'm calling those who take a topic praising Brockers, Claiborne and Brooks as an opportunity to dump on JJ non tiger fans. Gilbeau is a tool and as Bhelm has pointed out twice the data and evaluations he used were pre combine and the actual resuls were different. Apparently those who take joy in trashing JJ don't let facts get in the way of their blather either.

Two thoughts: Why release pre-combine grades after the Combine?

Will any team actually put more stock into these meaningless workouts than they do into the actual game films of JJ?

I read an article on ESPN yesterday (sorry but do not have the link right now) that stated Brockers had been underwhelming at the combine, which surprised me. anyone else hear this same thing or was this guy a lone voice of criticism?

That's the rub. JJ actually had a nice combine. The comments I saw basically said that despite him being a very good athlete according to the drill AND throwing the ball well, there was too much game tape for him to truly increase his stock. So ironically, he probably did himself no good by participating. He'll probably tear it up at pro-day and still not get drafted. Hopefully he uses his UDFA signing (it will come) as an opportunity to switch positions.

Brockers DID NOT have a nice combine. He was just good to look at. He ran a 5.3 40 and only did 19 reps of 225. Compare that to Dontorri Poe from Memphis who, at 340 lbs. ran a 4.8 40 and had 44 reps at 225. BUT, the game film shows that Brockers is the better player under the lights. So while Poe is probably rising, Brockers is not necessarily dropping. He needs to improve at pro-day though to quiet any whispers. Brockers is thought of as a project that is good enough to play now and get better on the field, but he's nowhere near as dominant as he can be.

Main thing I've heard about Claiborne is, they know he's faster than his 4.5 40 indicates and he's got the best hands of all DBs. I think he ended up at 4.47. Put that kid on a field and he runs a 4.3, lol. Draft stock just fine.

Although RR didn't do anything particularly great at the combine (aside from catch the ball) he had a decent enough performance that he's getting some possible 1st round love. Clocking a 4.5 40 helped as well. He should definitely be gone by 2nd round. I saw a few mocks that had him going in the 26 range to the Texans. According to his sis, if the Saints don't get to franchise Colston and have to let him walk, they will draft RR if he's available when they finally pick. I'd imagine the Saints will also make a hard charge for Reggie Wayne if he doesn't follow Peyton wherever he goes, should Colston walk.

How many college graduates are serving up burgers at McDonald's?

Seriously, the vitriol that surrounds JJ is astounding. He was a Tiger, right?

I remember this guy going against an LSU player that only had 2 years playing OT. Never could figure why everyone thought VG was gonna be this great player......

NFL Events: Combine Player Profiles - Vernon Gholston

You can play football or you can't, speed, size, tests, weights, etc are all great, but get them on the field and lets play.

Oh the guy Vernon went against in the NCG..........after spending the first three years at LSU on the defensive side of the ball.......
