must have been, i think that was the thing that was so frustrating to me with the coaching staff this season, especially crowton, but miles too, for going along with it. they tried to turn Jordan Jefferson into something he wasn't, and put the entire game in his hands. You have to do things to take the pressure off of a young quarterback, and the run game is the thing that can help out, and the play action game. The only running back who averaged less than 5 a carry was Charles Scott and he averaged 4.7 yards per carry, but come 2nd half in games, the run was abandoned. Now i know that there were times in the 2nd half when we ran the ball, but it seemed to me that a whole lot more could have been done to not have the whole game depend on Jordan Jefferson.

exactly, holiday over 5 per carry, ridley over 5 per carry, and murphy pre injury 5 per carry.

Maybe since Miles was an O Line coach before becoming a head coach, and an O Lineman for Bo at Michigan, he meant that this was the best run blocking offensive line he has had.

Well that comment has been skewed so much this season. I think he said it was looking like the best he'd seen. Or something. I just hope a lesson has been learned with the trench warriors.

I'll be damned TC. Great post. Next year nobody should be withholding criticism, though. The gloves are off and it's sink or swim time.

Maybe they'll coach and play with a sense of urgency.

I think we'll be better but I don't think next year will be THE year. Championships are usually won with Juniors and Seniors and I think THE year will be when this year's (awesome IMO) Freshman class are juniors.

One other thing I'd like to mention is the '05 recruiting class, this years RS seniors had only 13 members. Saban was so busy getting out of town, laffing and telling koonass jokes he kinda left Miles holding the bag.

I do think we'll beat Alabama this year and I Hope they're still ranked No 1. We get them at home and this year we have a bye week to prepare for them. More importantly, the officials probably won't be trying to protect the spread again.

i dont see a likely significant drop off anywhere except WR if toliver leaves.

DL will be better with alem, woods and alexander gone. im liking aligheri, edwards, nevis and downs with brockers, montgomery and hicks? in the rotation.

who's gonna return kicks? just brooks and jones? little homerun potential there. wonder if murphy or williams have more pop?

This has been my thinking. The people we are going to be replacing the seniors or leaving early for the NFL types are going to come from last year's lights out recruiting class. So if they don't perform are we going to hear it's because of inexperience? Also Florida and especially Bama have been recruiting the same type of classes. So it seems like a push. If you go back and look at the preseason predictions one of the areas of concern for Bama was the people they lost to the NFL on the offensive line. Looks like they did a pretty good job there huh? I really don't see where we are all of a sudden going to be over them in talent and experience next year.
