Look, I'll concede that Miles, even after his colossal foul-up in Oxford, deserves to return as LSU's head coach next year.

But next year has got to be a special year. It can be, and it should be.

After the win vs. Arkansas CLM admitted he was under pressure: "[This team] fought like hell," he said, "in an area where there is a swirling backdrop and agendas."

He meant, of course, that Tiger Nation had bailed on him when a quarter of the fans left in the middle of the second half of that game. They had an I-want-Miles-fired agenda and provided an emptying stadium as a backdrop.

Miles is as sick as any LSU fan that "Saban is better" is a common theme in the Land of Purple and Gold.

Having lost two in a row to Nick Satan, CLM knows next year has got to be special for LSU.

No longer should Miles have QB issues. Jefferson will be a seasoned vet. Ridley should lead a solid stable of running backs. Toliver and Randle should be two of the top receivers in the SEC. The D will have many players back, and a full year under Chavis's coaching. Another highly ranked recruiting class will land in Baton Rouge.

Let's see how Miles and his team respond in the Capital One, and then next season.

They should have the motivation to do something special. Miles knows they need to. :tigereye:

LSU's Offense should be much better, only thing we lose on offense is our EXPERENCED power running game, ford should step in and take that, ridley reminds me of addai for some reason so mix sheppard in and our running game is GREAT

RB = Ridley, Sheppard, Ford, Murphy

QB should be much more experenced

QB = JJ, Garrett, JLee(if no transfer) , Z Lee if no baseball draft

WR Laffel gone but he did drop alot of passes
WR = Tolliver, Sheppard, Randell, mabee murphy

only problem to make a run next year is our SCHEDULE
to play in the NC we would have to win the SEC and have no more than 1 loss

ALABAMA will be the team to beat, looks like FLA will lose alot of players this year so the east wont be too much of a problem in the SEC championship its all about beating alabama next year to play in the SEC champ game

More experienced yes, better who knows. Also we lose two OL from an already poor line. Will the line be better? Will the play calling improve? Waaaaaay too early to predict a better offense for next year. I definitely hope it is much improved, but nothing points towards a definite or even probable improvement.

I'm wondering if the coaches will move away from a "smaller and quicker" OL to a more beefy one. If some bulky guys step in, it may be an accidental improvement.

But if you'll remember back to the Georgia game, that's when they went to the zone blocking. Because they kept getting shoved around in one on one. Shoved around worse, that is.

If the O line sucked so bad, then why were our RB's averaging 5.4 yards a carry? Pass protection, you got me, but why did we abandon the run in the 2nd half in games that were close?
