Flynn's body of work prior to this season < Perrilloux body of work going into next season.

And to end all this SEC/Pac 10 B/S, here is my 2-cents.

    1. I don't care what USC's record against the SEC is and I don't care what their win % is. They did beat Auburn and Arkansas handily, but it's real easy to win a single game, when your coach has mountains of bulletin-board material to pile onto the team's motivation. The challenge of the SEC is not 1 game... It's the grind of 8-straight games.

    2. That same grind just is nonexistant in the Pac 10. USC wins the Pac 10 every year. Is that because they are the most dominant team? Yeah, you can say that, but imo, it also has a lot to do with the fact that there is no other "great" team to challenge them. Since the BCS inception, Tennessee, Florida, LSU and Auburn have all won BCS titles or have claimed national championships and Georgia has just missed out on a few themselves.

In the PAC 10, no one other than USC has really challenged for the crystal.

My point is that if you take any individual team out of the SEC, the conference is still a beast.

If you take USC out of the Pac 10, the conference becomes the Mountain West.

Like I said, as long as we can get away with it, it's fine but ask Auburn. Furthermore, had it not been for Virginia Tech this year, LSU wouldn't have played in the NC game- wouldn't you agree with that?

That's cause often it is...I never claimed to be smart did I.

you need to do your homework, bubba... Auburn's strength of schedule in hindsight did keep them out of the game. And had they schedule a "tough" opponent, they would have been in the game, but them not playing for the title had way more to do with them starting the season ranked low than anything else.

Had they been No. 2 to start the year, they could have played Akron 4 times and still made it.

I know how it played out but don't you think a couple of quality OOC games could have changed the AP voters? If not, you need to do your homework, sista.

auburn could have scheduled the patriots and won yet still would have been left out. USCe nor OU were dropping as long they won.

correction: had it not been for LSU kicking their ass then they wouldnt have made it to go along with 1000 other things. regardless, the SEC has proven a 2 loss team is almost assuredly better than a 1 loss team in those other unproven conferences.

here's the updated overall conference rankings:

    1) SEC

    2)everyone else

nah... I don't... 99.9% of the time, an undefeated team needs to lose to be jumped.

Unless they look like absolute crap, in which case, Auburn would have jumped them anyway.

I'll refer you all to my original proprosition which was:

While I know I won't convince anyone here of anything to do with USC or the conferences

If you believe travel distance or travel in general doesn't mean a thing, then why not do it more often and prove it? I have yet to see anyone dispute the fact that opening with North Texas, Troy, and an as yet TBD AT HOME doesn't equate to a 3-0 start before you play Auburn.

So many times I read that the Pac should reorganize to a super conference and play a CCG. Fine, as soon as the SEC eliminates Div1AA teams from their schedules and plays fewer than 8 home games in a season.

The current SEC set up was done to maximize TV/other revenue via the SECCCG. I have no problem with that but then don't use it as a shield for why opponents could/should be "easy".

If home field advantage means so little, then who is willing to say that Saturday night in Death Valley isn't one of the toughest things to get past?
