Stanford is 11-1, so what's the beef. USC beat Stanford. In a playoff, who do you want?? ... the years best teams ... or your favorites?? This year, Stanford and USC were two of the better teams according to record ... along with the others mentioned, like Wisconsin, Oregon, Okie State. Funny .. for me to be such a hog homer .. didn't list them did I! LSU is amoung the list, however. LSU is a great team this year, and it's been mostly fun watching them. They have a GREAT power run game, and a GREATER defense, and fantastic STs. LSU also has some very underutilized pass weapons ... but, as pointed out by others .. those pass threats haven't been needed to go 13-0. We've pretty much done it with the power run game. Just because we are great, doesn't mean we couldn't be better. I aint' bitchin .. I'm just discussing.
You people just love to complain. Jefferson plays too much. Les hurt Lee's feefees. We could be double plus SEC champions with a pocket QB. Now we are on to complaining about what hasn't happened yet. Can we step back and freaking enjoy where we are?
Football is kinda like Beer ... I enjoy the heck out of the one I"m drinking ... but doesn't mean me and my beer drinking buddies can't talk about better beers, or what could be better about the beer we are drinking. Thinking of stepping .. think I'll step over the fridge and fetch another.
All I know is IF we win this NCG, I will never complain about which qb we use again. What ever CLM decides is good with me. :miles: Now if we lose I will burn him in effigy. JK...
Seeing what Mett did this year on the bootleg means he can read what a defense is going to do. This is what you want in a QB. He can make the throws, will be his second year with Krags. The QB Randall may be bought in for Goal Line and short yardage. Mett will help us spread the field. The returning OL looks to be a good one, 4 of the 5 returning. Too much talent returning.
Bump for the QB talk/speculation since the GH commit and "backup" talk on thread below. http://forums.tigerfan.com/tigers-den/108958-backup-qb-2012-a.html
I strongly favor a pure pocket passer. Hands down. But I have to admit in college it may be easier to win consistently with a JJ style QB because its a much easier offense and athletic QBs are in much greater supply than the pure passers. Just look at what LSU was able to accomplish this season without a pure passer. A pro style offense isnt easy for a bunch of college kids to master.
