250 isn't realistic when you have 30% pass plays and 70% run, but I like how you think. These "on par" statistics (what everyone else does) no longer apply to LSU Assuming 66 plays a game and only 20 passes on average, figure about 175 - 200 yards/game with the rushing attack getting the rest
Our offense leaves a lot to be desired imo. (And it is all about QB play). Some will point to the final scores and not realize it's cause we have a great TEAM. Special teams, short fields, turnovers our defense gets us and possibly above all is DEPTH. We wear 'em down and by the end of 3rd qtr. and 4th fatigue comes into play. So, in the end, we win despite our QB's not because of. As for the 2 QB system, having better quarterbacks would definitely only help causing opposing coaches to have fits so I think we're in agreement on this- in some weird way. If nothing else, it'll wake up some of the ones who like to come in and post a thesis rebuttal or just the smaller retorts such as, "We are undefeated," "Our average score was ____." Though I'm not complaining and actually not even saying it to be critical.
I think in reality .. the reason LSU is sitting undefeated is because the rest of college football, including the SEC, pretty much sucks. Just look at the SEC. Ol Miss, MState, Kentucky, Auburn, TN, Florida, Vanderbuilt, GA, Arky. The only teams that even get an honorable mention are Bama and LSU, .. maybe SC [pre Latimore injury].. Defense is non-existent in CF these days. Everyone has gone to these speed oriented spread offenses. It didn't matter who was our QB, because the defenses we faced, with the exception of Bama, were pathetic. This is not to take away from LSU's exceptional year ... everyone else faced the same pathetic defenses as well .. and struggled .. which doesn't say much for their offenses at all. We need a playoff. LSU, Bama, Wisconsin, Stanford, Okie State, USC. I think these games would have been much more balanced in matchup.
Do you even watch college football? We all know you're a secret hog homer, have been ever since you got here. Stanford? USC? Really? Wow.
Miles took tremendous heat for playing Russell for almost the entire time and not giving Flynn enough playing time even though we had great years. Then he was lambasted for not playing RP enough even though the QB who didn't get enough playing time the year before lead us to a national championship. Now he is being ridiculed for using a 2 QB system even though he really hasn't used it at all this season. If I wasn't of a sound mind and realized that many fans just love to gripe no matter what the results I would be just as confused and disoriented as they are. Too many fans care more about their team winning (or losing) pretty than they do about the results. The bottom line is that Miles has the best record of any BCS coach since he has been at LSU and the results speak for themselves.
