Richard Murphy--Agree on this one too, better vision than Keiland 2a. Keiland Williams--If he gets better vision the sky is the limit. 3. Trindon Holliday--May see him used as a decoy more this year? FB: 1. Quinn Johnson--Will be a monster 2. Stevan Ridley--Will get the FB touches WR: 1. Brandon LaFell--Primed for a great year 2. Demetrius Byrd--Him too!!!!!!!!! 3. Terrance Toliver 4. Jared Mitchell 5. Chris Mitchell/True Freshman (Tolliver, Benton, Brown, Taylor?) TE: 1. Richard Dickson--Might be an All Amercian, should be All SEC I think. 2. Mitch Joseph?? 3. Tyler Edwards 4. Kelvin Sheppard--I believe he is going to have a great year. 2. Ryan Baker I can't began to guess where the true freshmen and redshirt freshmen fit into the mix at any position. CB: 1. Jai Eugene--He was burned on a few occasions in the spring game from what I've read and benefited from some errant throws. 2. Phelon Jones CB: 1. Chris Hawkins 2. Patrick Johnson--Hopefully he is as good as advertised and can step in by the 4th game as you have predicted, I think we'll need him. FS: 1. Curtis Taylor--Taylor will likely be called upon to call the coverages, this needs to be his big step up year where he becomes the leader of the secondary. 2. Chad Jones SS: 1. Harry Coleman 2. Danny McCray 3. Stefoin Francois DB: 1. Danny McCray--McCray may be used similar to how I believe Jones will be used to, his obvious strength to me is his run stopping ability so maybe as you noted way back he will be used as a LB/Monster man role especially against teams that play the spread. But I do believe he can cover better and has better hips and stuff than you do, it was mental mistakes that caused him to get burned in the big games last year. The guy is gifted athletically and will be a large part of our defense next year IMO and should give Coleman a heck of a battle for the starting spot at SS. NB: 1. Chad Jones-I think we'll see the coaches putting Chad Jones all over the field, playing some LB, some on the slot receiver and some safety.
I am too, but it doesn't seem like he has progressed the way I hoped. I still remember him running into blocks/tackles last year. Maybe he just didn't get enough carries to show what he can do. Still had a 6.5+ yard/carry average like the other two, so it's not like he's a dog. Definitely think Charles will become our 3rd down back. Both of these guys seem to get nicked a bit throughout the year. This year will tell the tale.
It seemed like he started off Great -V.Tech game, as the year went on he got kinda complacent or out of step. That may be the downside of having a running game by committee, one back never gets in a rhythm enough to have a last impact.
