I think so, I put 0% stock in this. Dean is pretty connected but I think he is being sold a bill of goods here. Caleb is trolling if there is even any truth to this at all. No way he comes here.
According to 247; - - -"The family is weighing their options and Carl Williams, his dad, told me last night, ‘NFL, not NIL’ is the guiding light of what the family is doing. They want to go to the place that best prepares him for the NFL and best prepares him to be the No. 1 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.” Refreshing to hear someone is thinking about the future rather than the quick $$$. I like this kid already. But given that our QB coach has no NFL experience, and with the current upheaval in the program; I agree with @shane0911 - no chance.
Although it's would be awesome to see what Caleb could do at LSU, he's not coming to Baton Rouge. I don't know if this is just a way to stir up news by his "marketing team" to get him more money, but it makes no sense to even consider LSU at this point. Realistically speaking, LSU is full of unknowns. By going to USC, he gets to play under his old coach in a system he knows how to run. Los Angeles also offers the bright lights and a plethora of NIL opportunities that can put millions in his pocket that BR can't. At USC, he also gets to be the big star in a conference that is much weaker than the SEC (particularly the West), thus increasing his chances of leading his team to the CFP and a shot at a NC. All Caleb has to do is look at this year's NC game to understand which road to take. I guess it makes for good conversation, but there really isn't a good reason for him to come to BR at this point in his career.
Yeah the committee failed to expand so it stays at 4. USC ain't getting near the cfp unless they buy tickets. With or without Caleb
Didn't you hear; USC made the greatest coaching hire this cycle because their guy doesn't have an accent.
