Washington Hall of Fame wide receiver Charley Taylor dies at 80 https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id...all-fame-wide-receiver-charley-taylor-dies-80 I must admit I don't remember much about him (the name sounds familiar) but sounds like he had game.
I always thought of him as Buckley with a sense of humor. We need more like him. Of course today he would shouted down as a Nazi, fascist, white supremacist
I agree we need more like him. However if you look around he was not a Trumpsters and was respected in life by most everyone in media. In fact the ones who disliked him most were the Tucker Carlsons, Sean Hannity etcetera. He was a voice of reason in an unreasoning world.
One of my favorites Gary Brookner of Porcol Harum https://www.rollingstone.com/music/...LPFUNbiSDSAi8S4MKOK5kK9Gk6FqGQl5Bt_w_AZvg_4tU
I have trouble remembering what I did yesterday, but I don't remember him much for having a "game" off the field. All I remember is his on the field play particularly against the Cowboys.
The guy was innovative. Whiter Shade of Pale is still one of my repeat listening songs. David Lanz put out a piano version of it that included the original organist from Procol playing along with David on the piano. It's mellow, but nice. EDIT - and their live performance with orchestra was gutsy and well done
Another outstanding WR on the 70's has passed. Ken Burrough, #00, died today at age 73. Most remember him as a Houston Oiler, but he was actually the Saints' first round pick in 1970. Was living up to the draft hype early that year, but suffered a scary neck injury (I was at the game) and finished the year as a shadow of himself, and the Saints traded him to Houston. I consider it the first monumental personnel error in franchise history; what a weapon he could have been for Archie. Here's a rare pic of him from his rookie year as a Saint.
