NASCAR Hall of Fame driver Junior Johnson, 88. Johnson learned to drive by running moonshine through the mountains of North Carolina. He was caught and convicted but later pardoned by Ronald Reagan. Johnson was the subject of Tom Wolfe's 1965 book The Last American Hero.

My favorite Neil moment from 5 concerts I attended.....in nola two nights before Mardi Gras. He's in the middle of his solo and someone in the crowd pitches a string of beads that catches on the top of one of his cymbals. He kept playing until he hit a natural break, then hooked the bead with one stick, flicked his wrist and shot it back in the crowd, and then continued without missing a beat. And the crowd goes wild.....
