This proposal is so far beyond insanely idiotic that I can't wrap my mind around it.

    Really, really freaking stupid.

The government knows what's good for you better than you do. Thank God we elect such wise people.

I am absolutely dumbfounded when I see a fatass drinking a Coke heavy. Living in the South I see it every day. Fatasses are fat for a reason. They don't give a f*ck. They just eat whatever, drink whatever and they genuinely don't care. Ordering a Coke Heavy with your lunch if you're fat is sickening.

Like Martin, I haven't had a Coke heavy in probably 6 years. I took a sip of one not long ago and it tasted like maple syrup. My body doesn't even want the shit anymore.

Fat people wonder why they are fat. It all starts with caloric beverages. Cut the caloric beverages out and you'll lose 10 lbs right off the bat......if your fat ass wants to lose more, you'll eat right and , for the love of God, EXCERSIZE.

I really don't have any sympathy for fat people in this country.

    rant over./

edit: that being said, this proposal is stupid.

AMEN! I second this comment and endorse it whole heartedly. For far too long fat people have gotten a pass in our society. I am willing to bet that obesity causes more medical problems than smoking cigarettes. Also, how many people are now claiming disability because they let themselves get so fat that their knees went out or they have back problems. I get so outraged when I am walking into Wal-Mart and I am almost run over by someone in a motorized chair whose fat hangs past their feet when they sit down. My sister has struggled with her weight since she was in high school. It has meant that she has to maintain a strict diet and workout regimen but she has done it for the past 20 years so if she can do it, so can all the others. No excuse, it just amounts to laziness.

I wonder if this passed would mcdonalds just give you 2 16 ounce cokes instead of a 32 ounce coke with your value meal.

Also I run one marathon and about 4 half marathons a year. Doesn't seem fair to ban me from buying a big gulp after I just burned 3000 calories running 26 miles.

Anyway I never drink sugary drinks, my weight troubles are always due to alcohol and bread and pasta. Maybe we should just give everyone a calorie cap and after that we wire their mouths closed

I like the calorie cap idea but we should be allowed to trade our calorie credits for profit if we want to. Yes, I think I am coming around on cap and trade schemes....

    Correct.

As for the leaded vs. unleaded thingy, it may not be all that we've been led to believe.
