in that case i dont think it was the type of turf, i think it was the management of that turf. the cap one bowl host put in the turf just a few weeks before the first of a couple of games. those games were a couple of weeks apart. first of all, there was not time for the turf to take solid root and grow, and if i remember right, there was also an unusually high amount of rain in that time, further preventing it from taking hold. add to that the wear it got before it even took hold and it was more than a mess. it may not be a bad turf grass. that field was mismanaged and a cluster waiting to happen.
