Kevin Myers of Compton, CA Community College has committed to LSU. He is listed at 6-6, 360, with a 5.0 40. He will play OT.

Rivals lists him as a four star. Looks like we landed him over Cal.

Looks like he had offers from LSU, California,NC State,Oklahoma State, Oregon,San Diego St.,Tennessee and UNLV. Not often we get one from Cali, hope this one stays a little longer than the last one. Good pick up by the staff, we need linemen on both sides.

I know he played JUCO in California, but is he actually from there?

    Ht: 6-5 Wt: 337 40: 5.5
    Position: OL
    Projected as: OL
    Position Rank: NR
    Class: 2003 Senior
High School: Manual Arts Senior HS
    (Los Angeles, CA)
    College: San Jose State

That was how big he was in high school. He committed to San Jose St out of high school and had a few other schools like UCLA looking at him but wasn't offered. He must have made a pretty good impression in the past couple of seasons.

He is originally from Belize. He is married and has a child. Supposed to be really good. The #1 JUCO OL according to Rivals. Will enroll in the Spring, should be ready to step in right away next year and will the void at RT. He and Whitworth should make quite a pair, with Big Herm waiting in the wings. Look forward to seeing him play.

I usually dont like JUCO's given our experience with them (Wroten, Mario, and EJ excuded hopefully), but Coach Saban seemed to have wanted him pretty bad, so I think he is going to be a good one.

Just like Boyz N the Hood. Hopefully he won't get shot before he makes it down here.

JUCO's are usually brought in when a coach feels there is a hole to fill quickly and they are hoping that 2 more years of maturity can help the guy contribute quicker than any body they have a chance at recruiting. Hopefully we do get some good production out of some the JUCO's on our roster. Looks like Wroten will be a good Tiger and Mario was looking pretty good before he was injured. Kuale has been off and on so far this year, Hollis has not done too much yet.
