Even if les does retire or leave for the NFL, lsu has the talent on the roster and name prestige to lure a competent head coach to fill the role. I hope he stays. If he leaves I wouldn't mind seeing the chief as hc.
I would't mind seeing the Chief as a HC, but he strikes me as one of those guys who is better as a Coordinator vs the head man. I think Orgeron is the same way. I do agree with another poster that he will stay at least until his youngest gets out of U-High. I went to U-High and looking back on Miles situation today, IF I could stay and let my kids go through that school vs uprooting them and starting over at new schools, new town, etc.... I would stay. Not to mention remaining the coach at LSU and making big bucks.
I think with Les Miles, it has a lot more to do with family and legacy than $$$. The things he learned from Bo all those years ago. LSU is his family, as is all the players, and everyone else who is around the program. He's shunned his alma mater twice. I think he knows that he has a great thing going here, you can see the excitement in his face during the games and in practice. This man isn't going anywhere.
If les stays another five or six years and continues the same winning tradition he has now, he will go down as the greatest lsu coach ever
The longer someone stays in one job/place, the harder is it to leave. Friends, kids' friends. In this case relationships with his players (both here and gone). As for money, if he's not happy with what he's getting, more won't make him either.
Les taking his family to Miami? Jimbo had a chance, Tommy Moffitt had a chance to go. Both were smarter than that. Too many reasons.
