-Miles doesn't have a monster ego
-Miles doesn't want to follow Nickie's flamed out path to the Dolphins
-Miles won't be able to coach up players in the NFL as he does so well at the collegiate level. His passion is embedded with the success of the athlete students on and off the field producing great results for the program, both, athletically (winning seasons, revenue$$) and academically (graduation rates for our football athletes).
    - Miles loves the great state of Louisiana!
........must I say more? The man didn't leave LSU TWICE in recent years to go back and coach for his alma mater. I don't see how he leaves for the NFL.

    Good post.

I would just add that he also has children, and that factors into the equation.

I just read the piece done about Coach Les Miles and his family that was done right before the Alabama game. My take on the article is that the Les and his family are quite happy here. I get the impression that they will probably be here for a long time still. I would be quite shocked otherwise.

I mean look at it this way:
-CUM left and came back not really for mo' money but he just wasn't happy (**** scared actually) in the SEC
    - Bobby Pee left Louisville/Falcons for more money but no respect. He actually has lost more than gained. The dumass doesn't get it cos he is so blinded by $$ and fame.
    - Little Nicky has the ego that can't fit in his small frame body. He is a coaching genius though (in a different, dictatorial style). Money, power has been earned here but the stress is getting to his health. I really think he is not too far from a stroke sometimes.
    - Our Mad Hatter is happy, healthy, wealthy and a very successful FAMILY MAN doing his tough job in the SEC.....a recipe for success that other coaches can perhaps replicate if they chew the grass coming out of his aars cos he ain't sharing.

Miles is highly paid and if he wins the NC he will be the highest paid coach in college football.
I dont see him going anywhere. He has it made in the sun.
He can stay here another 5-6 years and retire a legend in the SEC and at LSU and a bank account full of cash.

I think it is some BS started by Bama fans to distract Miles and LSU from NC preparations because the Saban to Texas ting is going viral and THAT is distracting them.

We have nothing to worry about...Bama does !!

LOL Well you think like I do

LOL but we thought the same about bama Nick at one time too. LOL so we win the BCS CSG and next season lose say 3 or 4 games . What will we as Tiger fans be saying then . Les stay or Les needs to GEAUX ! ?? I do not look for that to happen , I see us losing 2 at the most , will we be still be happy with a 10-2 plus a bowl win ??

There are college head coaches, and there are pro head coaches. When a coach tries to make the transition from one to the other, the results are most often a disaster. Saban is an example, Lou Holtz was another. Pro assistants often make the transition to college head coach, but college head coaches rarely are successful in making the jump to NFL head coach.

Les Miles strikes me as a college head coach. What's especially good for LSU is (IMO) he knows he's a college coach. I'm not worried about the NFL calling on The Hat.

I like Les Miles. I think he is a good coach, a great recruiter, a great motivator of players, and is great at keeping good coaches on staff. Notice I said Miles is a good coach, not a great coach. He does have deficiencies in his coaching (like everyone does), like game management. I think the things that make Miles successful on a college level would not translate to him being a great NFL coach. I don't think he leaves LSU for a long time.
