App State played FCS for a long time. We lived for those games, so did our players. They help the budget tremendously, aid in recruiting and give players a chance to play at places and people they see on TV. Also, they get to play against schools that passed them over. That is big to some of those kids. Some get to play a position in FCS they couldn't in FBS. Some of our past QB's were recruited to play other positions at FBS schools. Armanti Edwards is the best example. Clemson wanted him as a receiver. He won two Walter Payton awards (FCS Heisman) , three natty's and beat Michigan as a QB at App State. I'm for limiting the games, not eliminating them. One a year. Bama schedules lower tier FCS teams. LSU had the guts to play us a couple of times. Bama plays Western Carolina and the Citadel a lot. Western beat us once in the last 24 years we played. I think the Citadel spoiled homecoming for us in like 1979.
