Anyone else excited about the Voodoo coming back to the Arena? Season starts in March. 8 game home schedule, just picked up 3 season tickets for$120 each sideline 300 level row 1. ESPN/ABC also just signed a contract to televise at least 30 AFL games LIVE (unlike previous years where you could find an AFL game on ESPN at 3 am). Oh and did I mention the ArenaBowl (AFL's Superbowl) is going to be in N.O. this year. www.govoodoo.com
Same here. I hope to be able to follow them closely this year though. Arena football is a very exciting game and gives you something to do thats not baseball related in between basketball and football.
I've been two a couple of games. Everytime the ball is snapped, you think a TD is going to be scored. With the field virtually cut in half from a regular football field, it is hard not to think that a TD would be scored on every play. I love the fan interaction as well. Getting a chance to go on the field and meet the cheerleaders and Bones is quite fun. Just a really fun atmosphere. More of a social event than a football game at times, but still fun. It is also fun because the true conventional wisdom about how the game of football should be played is thrown out the window when watching arena football.
Have to agree with you there. Went to Sports Avenue in the mall today looking for some Saints Division Championship stuff and checked out the VooDoo section. Very cool merchandise.
Have not had the chance to go to a Voodoo Game yet but I was a HUGE New Orleans Night fan. Anyone remember the old black guy that played the National Anthem on the sax for every game. Got John Fourcade's autograph at a game, I think I still have that sucker packed away in my parents attic. Diffently gonna have to go to a few Voodoo games when I get back home
It's wrestling meets football....in a way. The pyro is on the same level as a live wrestling event. Not that I have ever been to or gotten kicked out of one.
