Zenon gets shot
After going undrafted and not being offered any free agent deals, former Breaux Bridge High and LSU defensive back Jonathan Zenon will get an opportunity to play for the Saints.

The Saints invited Zenon for a three-day tryout at rookie mini-camp, joining former Tiger teammates Luke Sanders and Josh McManus.

Zenon played in 41 games at LSU - 30 as a starter. He finished his LSU career with 91 tackles, nine interceptions and 25 pass breakups. Of his nine interceptions, he returned three for touchdowns - including the game-winner to beat Tennessee in last year's SEC Championship Game.

Zenon did not sign with a team after the draft and got a tryout with Cleveland first. The Browns chose not to sign him, freeing him up for his tryout this weekend with New Orleans.

"It's right at home so everything feels comfortable," said Zenon. "It's in my backyard so I feel like this is the best opportunity for me. ... All I can do is showcase my skills and hope for the best."

"Those guys that come from a program like LSU, they come in here with a swagger that they can make this team," Payton said. "And that's a good thing. They've been coached extremely well. They're used to winning and being successful.

"Generally those guys understand that there's going to be some bumps in the road, but have a clear vision of how they see their career going."

Sanders started 22 games for LSU, finishing with 75 total tackles.

McManus was a walk-on at LSU after prepping at Brother Martin in New Orleans. McManus is a non-roster tryout.

Just wondering what was the reason the Saints gave up on QB Adrian McPherson?It wasn't like we were paying him alot and I also Remember the Titans Incident.

he got ran over by t-rac the titans raccoon mascot in a golf cart then sued the nfl.

Yeah I remember he sued the Titan's mascot for $5 million in compensatory damages and $15 million in punitive damages but wasnt he placed on the Saints injury reserve list that season when it first happen or was he just released then.

Should the Saints take a chance on LB Odell Thurman who was just released from Cinci.? They probably could get him at a bargin price and put clauses in his contract to protect them but is his talent worth it.

Dan Morgan retired today. I would take this as great news since this horrible acquisition cant put them in a hole during the season now.

“When we signed Dan, he was committed to making a fresh start, and he was making every effort to rehabilitate the leg injury that he suffered last year,” said Coach Sean Payton. “But it wasn’t responding as well as he had hoped it would. We wish him well in his continued recovery, and he will be remembered for the excellent player he was during his career.”

Don't think much will come of this since he was the one stabbed in the neck but I am no lawyer.

Charles Grant participated in an offseason training session at the New Orleans Saints' suburban headquarters on Wednesday, a day after being indicted by a grand jury in Georgia on an involuntary manslaughter charge.

"Charles is not alleged to have fired the weapon that killed (Reed) so the circumstances of the indictment are unique," Tolley said. "We, of course, dispute that he should have been charged because he did not shoot a gun. He did not cause the death of the person that died and we believe that we can prove that.
"It was only alleged he was in a fight and it's a pretty good leap in logic to charge Charles (in the shooting death), but they did, so we have to deal with it," Tolley continued.

In addition to Grant and Macklin, Marshae Stromer, Anthony Wilson, Jarvis Tinson, Rodreaco Gray and Woodrow Gray were charged with involuntary manslaughter for alleged participation in the fight.
Grant also received misdemeanor fighting charges.

It will be interesting to see...I think the media has blown it out of proportion. Either way he can only play successfully in a 3-4.
