Funny you say that becasue I was thinking the same thing but didn't want to start a political conversation!:hihi: But I thought it was interesting also!
at this point, it is hard to feel sorry for those folks. I mean, yeah, I totally feel sorry about what happened, but Nagin has done nothing to fix anything, but they still had the nerve to reelect him, so it's almost a question of wondering if these people even want change, or if they are just satisfied living in their pop-up campers.
The LA dept of culture, recreation, and tourism is run by the LT governor's office (Mitch Landrieu). He's a crooked douche bag of enormous proportions but it sounds like he's doing something intelligent for a change.
Alright I was on my way home from work yesterday and listening to my favorite radio station here in Orlando (Real Radio 104.1) http://www.wtks.com/ and the Phillips Phile was on (this is a talk radio station only and funny as hell). Anyway they were interveiwing a local news guy about his vacation. He went to NOLA and was giving a description and his experience. It was a great 30 minute talk about NOLA and the food and people. He ended it by telling everybody to not listen to the media hype, New Orleans is back and ready for the tourists!!! I don't know if you can listen to old shows but it was yesterday around 4:45-5:30 (central time)! It was fun to hear something positive come out of somebodys mouth about NOLA since Katrina!
