It will be a long shot but I respect the effort to get it done. I would really enjoy attending the draft in N.O. http://www.shreveporttimes.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20070714/BREAKINGNEWS/70714006/1001/SPORTS
I hereby pledge that I'll make the drive/flight from Austin to the NOLA for that event. I plan to head to NYC with my podnuh that's followed the draft with me for the past 11 years regardless. Probably in '09. Slick move by NOLA, though I don't see it leaving NY. The Giants/Jets/Iggles fans are just too ingrained in the culture of the NFL draft.
Hey, I never thought I'd see the Essence Fest in Houston but it happened. OK, OK, maybe I was almost positive it was going to happen. :hihi:
OK since this does not warrant starting a new thread I figured this was a good place to put it! Lately in my traveling around the state of Florida I have been hearing on DIFFERENT radio stations in DIFFERENT cities giveaways to do something in New ORleans. For example Real Radio in Orlando (my favorite station) is doing one for the Arena Football championship game and it is an all expense paid trip to NO for the game and weekend. Then I heard a couple of different ones in the South Florida region. Most recently (today) I was in Jacksonville and some radio station was giving another expense paid trip to NOLA for a concert of some sort. So curiosity kills the cat (and the fact that I was driving and bored anyway) I decide to call the station and see if it was concidence or what. After waiting on hold and being transfered 100 times (think god I was bored) I was told that NOLA tourism board is contacting radio stations to give them HUGE discounts to certain events. This is amazingly smart. FOr months at a time radio stations are annoucing the word that is TIME to come back to the city and spend your money! I hope it works but of course it can't hurt! Anyway thought it was interesting. Continue about the draft...sorry!
That is pretty interesting OT. Did NOLA hire a non-native to institute some changes? I can only imagine the outrage after Montel Nagin finds out somebody's doing something constructive.
