Pins for the most part will be taken out early in the season. The prediction is that once a few players have statistical success leaving it in, others will notice and by the end of the season, more will follow.
I didn't read it but saw a headline on ESPN where Tiger said it was just weird. I don't know if that means he will get over it or if the majority of the field will as well. I saw a couple of golf balls bounce off the pin yesterday that would have went in had it not been there (yes they were from chips or other shots where the pin is normally in) but with the pace they were rolling they drop if there isn't anything there to bounce off of.
The so called expert analysts on TV say in their opinion leaving the pin in is an advantage. I saw TW leave the pin on a few long putts. Adam Scott leaves the pin in on every putt. He had a top 10 finish yesterday.
In the past I have seen players putt with the stick in and their caddy would pull the flag out as soon as they struck the ball. Is that still legal?
Well Tiger would have to get the golf ball at least close to the hole for that to be a valid comparison. Perhaps you should look for your glasses as well as your teeth. I'm betting they are very close to each other. Hope you find the glasses first though, I'm on your side old dude.
I watched Dechambeaux win the tournament in the Middle East by 7 shots against a pretty good field. The young man is not your typical PGA Tour player. He's the most analytical Tour player I've ever seen play. It's paying off in wins. Will be interesting to see how he plays in the majors this year.
