I don't know how many golfers we have on here, but for those who play what do you think of the new rules that went into effect the first of the year. I applaud the governing bodies for attempting to simplify things. The one I like the most is the ability to now being able to tap down spike marks. The one that appears to be generating the most discussion is the ability to be able to putt with the flag stick in. It's early, but what do you think of the changes.
Are those rules just for the pros or do they apply to weekend duffers too? I have putted with the flagstick in before. I didn't know it was against the rules.
So did they change the size of the clowns mouth? Lower the bumper rails?? These are the things that keep my game above that of my peers
I think they are okay. To me the most interesting is the caddy is no longer allowed to help them read the putt. Has to be in order to increase pace of play but I don't think it will do a damn thing. It's also about time they make some common sense changes like tamping down spike marks. To me that should have always been a rule. So far that nutjob dechambeau is the only one that wants to putt with the flagstick in. I wouldn't do it and it appears most of the tour agrees.
Funny I was about to ask what anyone thinks of that nut job frenchie American dechambeau. Im not feeling it.
I think the caddy can still help a player read a putt. They can no longer stand behind the player and help him line up the putt.
