I don't like it, but I will say that it is better than slapping a big :tigereye: on the chest. The funny part is that we as fans really believe that we have control over these types of changes. When Toonces came out, there were screams from the masses that we had to go back to the old circle tiger head or even gay sailor Mike ldskule:. In the end, they modified the new logo, but Toonces still exists & LSU never went backwards. If they ever decide to meddle with the helmet, I fear that no amount of kicking & screaming will get them to go back.
I wish they would use the Geaux font LSU on the helmets. Not change the Tiger head, just the font of the LSU to match the Geaux font on the jerseys. I like things to be consistent across the board. I think it would make the uniforms clean and sharp from top to bottom if the lettering was the same.
That's exactly the next thing you will see happen to the uniforms. 2 years later, everyone will realize the uproar over the change won't get the old font back. People will just accept it. That's when they replace round Mike head with new Toonces head. Next thing you know, LSU has been "Oregoned" and no one really noticed because it didn't all happen overnight.
Wow, a barely visible 1-inch high logo on LSU jerseys. Yep it's only a matter of time now before we're all corporate slaves and the AD hands over the reins to Nike. A little piece of me just died. :rolleye33: I'm as tradition-minded as anyone else here, but some of you purists please get a grip. It's not a giant 8-inch long flashing neon check mark for goodness sake. If this helps LSU gain some brand recognition and visibility and make more money go for it.
