+1. This is just the beginning. Sort of like the gun opponents. Get one "assault weapon" banned and its easier to start banning other guns. They are just trying to start w/ one easy change to get the idea of change percolating. Nike wants to change us to their vision of what will be flashy and hip.
Personally I've always felt LSU has been on the cutting edge of Football Fashion. However It does remind me of a certain team up north.
Now its official 'LSU' Added to Chest of Football Jersey - LSUsports.net—The Official Web Site of LSU Tigers Athletics
Just Great. Three logos now on the front--LSU, SEC and Nike. The SEC logos should move to the shoulder or something, and the Nike logo should be on the pants only. There are two more Nike logo's on the shoes! Why have four Nike logo's on the uniform? The damn shirt is starting to look like a quilt. Rid us of the swoosh on the jersey and I can live with the LSU logo.
Did you happen to see the men's Wimbledon final on Sunday? Federer looked like a freaking Nike ad with all of the logos on camera. It was insane. (Alternatively, Roddick looked like a freaking LaCoste ad.) It's just part of the way the world is today. We don't like it, but all of these big entities like to make money and promote themselves, and LSU knows that with these letters on the front of the jersey it will be that much more identifiable from a throwback vikings jersey. As for the jersey itself: I'm a purist, and I did crap a brick at first, but I came to terms with it. It's whatever... as long as this is the extent of what we're going to see. I will gladly protest, in the streets, if Nike does something Oregonian with our rags. That includes the Tulane debacle.
im surprised nike isnt insisting that the swoosh be tatooed on the players butts, just for good measure.
