Read closer. That comment was by a radical cleric, not the new President of Egypt, who has already stated that all treaties will be honored including the Israel peace treaty. Morsi has to form a coalition government in the Parliamentarian system. Egypt has many factions including a lot of Christians and secular Egyptians--the young people that actually waged the revolution. He is not going to pursue the most radical policies because it would just foment another revolution or a full military coup. He is an American educated engineer and no fool, for all of his ideology.

But the main thing to remember regarding Egypt invading Israel again is that the Egyptian army wants no part of it. They have suffered four ass-kickings in their four wars with Israel. They have been armed with American military equipment for 30 years replacing most of the Soviet-era equipment they lost the last wars with. They understand how much better they are and how much more advanced the weapons we send Israel are. They know that in a shooting war, we will swamp Israel with supplies and starve them of the same. They realize that the Israeli military is better equipped, better educated, better motivated, better trained, and better led. Unlike all previous wars, Egypt would have no allies except perhaps Iran which has no effective military.

Egypt is hemorrhaging cash. The tourist income and foreign investment has dropped to nothing since the unrest began. Income from the Suez canal will stop instantly if war breaks out. The 1967 war closed it for 14 years and nearly bankrupted the country. It took two years after the 1973 war to clear the mines and reopen the canal. Egypt simply cannot afford to wage war on Israel. Libya is the country that should worry about Egypt. Egypt covets Libyan oil and Libya has no allies. if Egypt gets desperate for money, Libyan and Sudanese oil field will call to them.

The rhetoric of radical clerics means very little. The Egyptian army will stage a coup if any civilian leader tries to take on Israel.

Plus, if Egypt attacks Israel, The Nile will turn blood red and they'll be up to their ears in locusts and frogs.
