Say what you will about Les that man must be some kind of mystic. He almost gets fired then manages to save his own ass and get his best friend a 3 year extension, all with one of the worst passing offenses in D1.
You knew it was coming when, during recruiting and rumors were swirling about his leaving after NSD, CCC stated something to the effect that he wouldn't allow himself to be in these kids homes lying to them and the parents about him being around to coach their kids next year. BUT, $1m+ plus is way too much for the job he's done in coaching up our QBs. At least it doesn't appear he got a raise. I'm still pissed though!
Hijack, sort of ... The ability to do things like that are up for a vote either this week or next week. Whether it's live or not? Maybe in the press box ... their going to be working it out. Softball has similar legislation pass...
I wish I knew the exact details of the contract. Last I checked they weren't released. I have heard he got a decrease in pay around 4M for 3 years which isn't much of a decrease. However, I can't recall any coach anywhere in college football or pros that took a paycut and have the same job title. The amount and term of the contract isn't really what I want to see...I want to know the buyout and clauses in the contract. I have also been hearing that his family did not want him to sign the new deal. But he ran out of options as he couldn't find a job paying him what he was making on this new deal. I suspect the Browns job fell through and Les purposely leaked the Signing day news to attempt to put pressure on LSU to get the deal done.
The problem isn't where the offensive coordinator is . The problem is WHO the off. coordinator is. I put a mule behind a fence or in an open prairie it's still a jackass.
