OK here's one for you. When was the last time Miami had a legitimate D? Shannon hasn't done anything even though Miami reels in more than their share of talent. Shannon would be a poor choice IMO, of course it would probably be an improvement over what we have now.

It's going to be them or him eventually. Head Coaches who remain too loyal to assistants who aren't getting the job done will find themselves on the street. You only have to look at Charlie Mac or Gerry Dinardo for examples.

Les is smarter than that, I think.

You mean it took you until last season to figure out Peveto couldn't coach special teams? What are you trying to say? I'm not saying I'm the first person on the planet to say it I'm just giving my opinion. I put a lolipop in the mail as your reward for scooping everyone.

Special teams was bad for a while. So bad that a lot of us were calling for his head the last couple of years.

    And then he gets promoted.

So, I have a bad feeling that he's not going anywhere. Heck, he might get a promotion.

In listening to CLM and reading about his take on the D, it seems that he is satisfied with the schemes and the gameplans.

    Should we believe this, OR

Is this just the usual coach-speak that he must use until the end of the season?

I actually agree that it would probably be a poor choice and would be an improvement over what we have now.
I can't help but notice how well Texas defense is playing under Wil Muschamp btw.

I just had to mention that analogy once it entered my brain cells.
I am now quite curious on what he could manage to do with our defense.:)

Probably both. I saw a lot of busted assignments but I did not see Georgia doing anything really confusing. It looked like many poor decisions and if the motivation was to make a play, instead of just being dumb and forgetting your responsibility, I can buy that. For now.

But timeliness of play calls has also been an issue and overall motivation doesn't seem to be there like years past. The defense could improve greatly in the last two months, and Miles may still have to replace the DCs. If they don't improve, he will certainly have to do it.
