I think it is pretty safe to say that EVERYONE in Tiger Nation is tired of the Co-DC monster. And it is also safe to say that everyone in Tiger Nation wants Les to make a change in that area.

SO with that being said who is out there that would be a good fit????

Who would you like to see us go after?

Someone who has DC experience and credentials. A half million dollar (or more?) a year job is not an OJT position.

I am curious as to what the actual problem with these guys really is. Is there a disagreement in strategy that is holding things up? Decision making disorders? Extra layers in transmission of plays(slowing things down further)? Or are these guys just in over their heads?

I am really hoping it is not the last, because this season could get really long. Doubtful a new DC would not want to bring his staff, so that might mean losing both position coaches, and that could bother recruits.

If Miles keeps them, then the new DC might not be able to really get changes made like he would prefer. Or it could keep us from getting some DC altogether.

This will be a tough one.

That would be my guess especially with Peveto. He couldn't even get us to average on special teams with all the talent available during his time as special teams coach.

John Chavis may be unemployed after this season.

Bingo ! That was my initial reaction when he was named Co-DC. I don't know enough about the inner workings of our defense etc. but we have waaaay too much talent for it to playing the way it is, something's not right.

How about Mike Archer ? (J/K)

i think the good thing about this is that it wouldn't have to be such a big shakeup as it would normally be. i have no problem with both guys going back to position coach positions.

it's like, hey we tried something, we tried to promote from within, and the experiment didn't work, we're gonna go in a different direction.

usually someone gets a pink slip in this situation but it doesn't have to be that way unless pride gets in the way.

Would be a mistake to get someone from the NFL?

Don't expect some big time name if a change is made and it would be very unlikely to be a current NFL coach. More than likely it would be someone that has had good success at a program that isn't big time. JMO

Do you think we can read into Miles comments that he realizes that the CO-DC thing is not working?

If so do you think he is wise enough to make a change?
