Here is the guy, I can't find any info on his whereabouts: http://scout.scout.com/a.z?s=215&p=8&c=1&nid=2304757
http://www.sidhelp.biz/article/116.php He is attending Tyler Junior College WIDE RECEIVER: A position that needed improving in 2005 could be one of the team’s strengths in 2006. The Apaches have a great mix of veteran and new players at this position. Redshirt So-Keithn Robinson and So-Johnny Knox finished the spring as the starters at wide receiver. Both saw considerable playing time in 2005 and have worked hard in the off-season to improve their skills. Others that should contribute are Redshirt Fr.-Anthony Swain (Manor), Fr-Jason Teague (Carthage/LSU signee and THSCA-All Star), Fr-Justin Robertson (PA Memorial– Iowa State Signee), and Fr-Waylond Whitlock (Eustace) could also compete for playing time.
Good find. Thanks! What are the rules reguarding a player that signs his LOI but doesn't qualify? Was he placed at Tyler CC by LSU?? And what happens when he completes his time there? Is he held to his LOI that he signed in Feb.? Will he have to sign another one if he intends on coming to LSU like he originally planned??
If he qualifies from JUCO, we will have to re-extend his scholarship offer and he'll have to resign his LOI with whatever team he choses.
No we don't. LSU will sometimes place a kid in Juco in hopes of "Future consideration". Meaning if he gets his academic straight in Juco & excels in Football, we may extend another offer. However, LSU is not obligated to offer a recruit again, nor is the recruit obligated to attend the 4 year college he originally signed with. These days recuits with severe academic problems will fax 2 letters of intent, one to a 4 year college & 1 to a Juco.
I didn't mean we're forced to reoffer the scholarship. I meant that he can't recommit unless we re-extend his offer.
Something happened with Teague just after he gave his verbal to us...no one really wanted to talk about it, but it's safe to say we will not be recruiting him in the future. I don't want to speculate on what it was, but when a school suddenly pulls an offer from a recruit quietly, it is usually due to 1 of a couple of reasons.
