Guess you only looked at his stint at OU. In the pass happy big 12 most secondaries will not look that good. Defense in the big 12 takes a back seat to offense. Also OU couldnt raid Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama or Florida for great DB's. Sorry but Oklahoma nor Texas and the mid West have athletes like the southern states. Cooks will have much better players to work with. Cooks was also co defensive coordinator twice. Tells me he knows his shit. If you read his full bio he is a great recruiter too.

Let me start by saying that this is supposed to be a forum where we discuss (good or bad) LSU sports. I want no part in just being a cheerleader. And while most of us on this forum recognize that a change had to be made and that Kelly is now the new sheriff in town, it does not mean we cannot criticize decisions by him that any of us feel are questionable. Yes, Kelly did a fantastic job rebuilding 3 programs that had hit rock bottom and had no talent. LSU, although not up to our standards, was in far better position than all of those 3 teams. A complete rebuild was not needed. Am I happy that Frank Wilson returned? Absolutely! But would I have preferred Raymond & Wilson recruiting for LSU vs Wilson & Cooks? Absolutely!
I’m not too worried about the class just yet. Ed O had elite talent and just about lost most games over the last 2 years. We have/had some serious infections on this team.
