The similarities in the differences here are that, for both scholarship athletes and coaches who "Leave", the best ones are usually the ones it involves and each know the price when they sign contract/letter of intent, that's just my .02. luvmesumlsu, relax bro, we didn't have a coach when we found Miles.
Then by the same token, a college/university should not be able to fire a head coach. They would have to be married to each other, through thick and thin they remain together. Ain't gonna happen, captain!
truth is..its just fun to contemplate the complexities of it all. :tigereye::tigereye::tigereye::tigereye::tigereye:
They absolutely can! That's why they have contracts and in those contracts, they have penalties for leaving early: "Buyout clause".
Coaches just like everybody else have to look out for themselves. Schools fire coaches all the time and most just have some "settlement" after the firing. Most colleges don't have to pay the remaining years of the contract unless the contract specifically states so. Most of these contracts have some sort of buyout clause that is far less than the total value. Honesty and integrity goes both ways my friend. Hell Auburn flew to see Petrino before they had even discussed firing Tuberville.
