You can structure the payout to include covering the income tax, which would make it an even bigger payout. The tax code allows for this without that payment being considered income (so it's not a continuous cycle of income tax.) However, just the additional expense of that could preclude the buyout.

I doubt anybody knows how much money they have at R-Kansas. Perhaps a Walton can get involved.

Lowder pays the payout, because he wants Petrino. Just a guess.

Its actually more the Tyson's than the Waltons.

Sucks either way. It will certainly be an interesting weekend.

Jaques Doucet is reporting on WAFB that Tubberville is, "in fact," headed to Arkansas.

He also reported that an LSU booster flew to Tuscaloosa for a few hours today and headed back, but was unsure of the reason. :dis:

Its that time of year when people track planes, rumors fly, people try to sell insider information on Ebay, message boards crash, and those of us with little to no lives read it incessantly like a fat house wife watching soaps.

My favorite is the rumors that are built of flights being tracked.

    Its fun !

For the record i think all of this is bunk, Tubs to Arky, Saban to LSU.
But also found it laughable Saban was going to Bama. Shows what I know. I fell for the "I am not going to be the next coach at Alabama " speech so I am kind of gullible.
The only I think is probably true is Miles is bailing for Meeeechigan.
But it makes for fun reading.
