They should concentrate on designing better protective equipment, especially the helmuts. When Dan Pastorini, QB for the Houston Oilers had broken ribs one day 2 guys walked into the locker room. One of the had a baseball bat. He swung it and hit the other guy real hard in his ribs and the guy didn't even flinch. He was wearing some kind of a flak jacket he had designed. Pastorini bought one on the spot.
I think they've improved protection as far as current technology allows. The problem with ko's is you have many players running at full speed towards each other,.. there's gonna be huge head-on collisions, I think the gunners get hurt as often as the returners,.. it's exciting, but what makes it great, also makes it dangerous as hell. This ko rule is small potatoes though,.. concussions are the big deal, and they occur across the board.
That's what the NFL has been trying to do for a decade now bc every ailment of past players is being blamed on cte. The NFL can only protect the players so much but the responsibility and decision must lie with the individuals.
Have you ever seen the boy in the bubble? They could design form fitting bubble suits and everbody could bounce off each other like bumper cars. Is this the direction football is headed? In 10 years we might not even recognize the game of football as we know it.
My sentiments exactly... Nobody's forcing them to play in the NFL... Not too many jobs where you'll get millions of dollars to play a game... These guys are dedicating most of their lives just trying to get to the NFL knowing the risks involved...
