Keep this up for several months and the problem of illegals crossing the border will subside dramatically.

That's not racial profiling. Is this activity indicative of smuggling activities?...yes.

According to you...Can you ever base your assumption on anything but racial profiling?

I understand you don't have a problem with racial profiling but all profiling isn't racial.

So are you assuming non-Hispanics never get arrested for entering illegally, alien smuggling, drug smuggling, money laundering, or smuggling other goods into the United States? You might want to check the statistics.

Young, old, male, female, white, black, brown, rich, poor, citizens, resident aliens, visitors, illegal aliens, etc. all get arrested for border crimes. Are the majority Hispanic?...duh!...we don't share a border with China, or Nigeria, or Pakistan, etc.

We share a border with one predominantly white nation and one predominantly Hispanic nation. One is economically stable and doesn't have a need to migrate to America. The other country is corrupt and will not take care of their own people so they come here. When 98% of the people who come here illegally are Hispanic why are enforcement efforts automatically considered racist?

    I don't get it.

no. i am not assuming that.

i dont have a problem with racial profiling or racism in general. the way to catch illegals is with profiling. there is no need to deny that or care about how racist it is.

it looks like arizona is getting ready to fire another shot in this battle....

Arizona's Next Immigration Target: Children of Illegals - Yahoo! News

while i think the notion of anchor babies is outdated and we should revoke laws making the children of illegals legal citizens, i dont think it is an issue for the states. this is a federal issue that congress has not had the cajones to bring up.

hopefully this will force congress into at least bringing up the issue, but i doubt it.

that would require repeal of the 14th amendment, and the chances of that are exactly 0%

It's sad when you visit a small town on the U.S. side of the border that has a handful of residents but a post office with 10,000 P.O. boxes. It's amazing how many people cross the border to pick up government cheese checks (welfare, housing assistance, funding for food, formula, etc.) and then return to Mexico with the money.

There are also "many" U.S. citizen children who reside in Mexico yet cross the border each day to attend school. Their parents don't live in the school district therefore don't pay taxes to support the schools and guess what happens when someone suggests they pay tuition. It immediately turns to RACISM. :dis: When you can't get your way or have no argument...just pull the race card.

    Ya think?

The 14th amendment was created to recognize that the descendants of African slaves are US citizens despite the fact of the illegal transport and undocumented entry to the US of their progenitors. Who is going to open that can?

    Nobody.

But we can amend the immigration laws such that the illegal foreign parents of a US citizen child gets no special immigration status because of it. They have to get in line for a legal green card like every other applicant, else they can be deported. If the child must accompnay his parent back to Mexico or whereever, he still remains a US citizen and has the right of return. Alone.
