New Arizona Immigration Enforcement Laws

martin kinda has a point, though. You can't ship off a bunch of Mexicans without profiling for Mexicans. Of course, you kind of have to just be only looking for Mexicans, though. The Canada thing was pretty clear, unless I misread something. They said there were only a few locals and then they noticed some non-locals. Isn't that right? Not really racially driven there at all, unless you cook it up.

However, this isn't about all that, really. This is just about a law in AZ that says if you stop somebody, and they can't prove they're supposed to be in the country, they get the bus ride back home. Right? Or did a hijack take place?

yes, that is what it is about. which is clearly based on racial profiling, as there is no chance i would ever be asked to prove i was a citizen, because my english is perfect and i am as white as a lily.

i dont believe anyone should be stopped and have to prove their citizenship or be held. it just isnt right to force everyone ( and by everyone i mean people that look latino) to carry ID at all times or possibly be detained. F that.

 

this is what i was talking about. the deal along the canadian border. if it were along the mexican border, of course we would be looking for mexicans coming in. thats pretty much a given.

but to complain about the citizen watch program along the canadian border seems ludicrous to me. who knows what the nationality of people are flying into canada and sneaking across the border. if i remember correctly, the arrested would be bombers in the millenium bombing plot were coming across the canadian border.

besides, poor mexicans dont fly into canada and sneak down from the north. they can barely afford to pay the coyotes to lead them in from the south.

seems to me that the groups that oppose the arizona laws are screaming racism and profiling about everything and all attempts at border enforcement, even along the canadian border.

 

right, like i said, the racial profiling in canada should be more about profiling muslims, not mexicans. oops i mean no profiling, lets lie and pretend it isnt muslim arabs that are coming to bomb us!

I'm on the fence. On one hand, I don't want the country overrun with people that are illegal, but on the other hand, I don't want to be like Nazi Germany, either.

 

I guess a white person I don't recognize snooping around my property isn't a sign of suspicion. :dis:

I realize you live a huge city. But those of us from smaller communities know when someone is out of place.

 

if white folks are snooping you should call the regular cops, not immigration.

right. imagine you did. you arent gonna see 12 white people packed into a honda driving erratically. and if you did, it would be drunk frat boys, not illegal immigrants. you would know the difference between immigrants and drunk kids based on racial profiling.

in canada, we should be profiling for terrorists by looking for middle eastern folks.

in texas, we should be prolfiling for mexicans by looking for mexicans. clearly this is racial profiling. clearly! that is what immigration enforcement is based on. when people say it isnt, they are lying.

the problem i have with all this is not that they are profiling, i simply think they should just make the illegals legal instead of rounding them up for deportation.
