Interesting.....barring an upset or a major change in thinking by the voters, the 'Bama game will be #2 hosting #1, same as last year. We have to do a better job than last year's home team did in those circumstances. I like our chances.
Nice to see USCw dropped out of the top 10 as they should have. All the media blow hards who were telling us to forget the season and just put on the championship game between the Gumps and Condoms are shown to be such fools.
Top 40 by conference, both polls: SEC 1/1 Bama 2/2 LSU 5/6 Georgia 7/8 South Carolina 14/14 Florida 23/23 Miss State 35/38 Missouri 35/40 Tennessee 38/39 Texas A&M Big 12 5/6 Oklahoma 7/8 West Virginia 10/12 Texas 13/15 K State 16/17 TCU 25/30 Oklahoma St 27/28 Baylor 31/32 Iowa State 36/37 Texas Tech Big Ten 16/NA Ohio State 17/18 Michigan 20/21 Mich State 22/25 Nebraska 24/36 Wisconsin 28/30 Northwestern ACC 4/4 Florida State 9/10 Clemson 26/33 VT 34/40 Georgia Tech Pac 3/3 Oregon 9/11 Stanford 12/13 USC 19/19 UCLA 21/22 Arizona 26/33 Oregon St Big East 18/20 Louisville 29/34 Cincinnati 30/31 Rutgers Other 11/15 Notre Dame (Independent) 24/27 Boise St (MWC) 29/(42) Ohio (MAC) 35/NR La Tech (WAC) 38/NR BYU (Independent)
some of the more interesting games next week: SEC Kentucky at 14/14 Florida (11:20am) 35/38 Mizzou at 7/8 South Carolina (2:30pm) 2/2 LSU at Auburn (6pm) Vanderbilt at 5/6 Georgia (6:45pm) Big 12 13/15 K State at 5/6 Oklahoma (6:50pm) ACC Miami at 34/40 Georgia Tech (2pm) 9/10 Clemson at 4/4 Florida State (7pm) Pac 26/33 Oregon St at 19/19 UCLA (2:30pm) Cal at 12/13 USC (5pm) 21/22 Arizona at 3/3 Oregon (9:30pm) INTER-CONFERENCE UVA at 16/17 TCU (11am) 17/18 Michigan at 11/15 ND (6:30pm) 30/31 Rutgers at Arkansas (6pm) 38/NR BYU at 24/27 Boise St (Thursday)
I know you said some of the "more" interesting but frankly, none of the SEC ones REALLY interest me. Sad, I know. I just see us curb stomping Auburn and perhaps the best matchup (Mizzou vs. South C) I just can't grasp accepting these new additions as "SEC" teams yet. Rutgers at Arky, now I'm kinda anxious to see the line on that one.
For the sake of our strength of schedule and Bama's lack of strength of schedule ... I'm pulling for SC to beat Mizzou. Somehow, even with a much weaker schedule than last year, we still have stiffer competition than does Bama. We play the 2 of the top 3 teams in the east .. they play two of the bottom 3 teams in the east. In fact, as it is shaping up ... LSU will be Bama's only competition this year. We'll have SC, ATM, and FL to warm up for the Bama game. They will have Ol Piss, Mizzou, Tenn, and MState. They are gonna look a lot better on paper than we will ... but the level of competition won't even be close.
