HC - The Mad Hatter OC/QB - The Wizard OL - Stud RB - Master P WR - Mac DC/LB - Chief DL - Brick DB - Coop ST - JoeRob I think this potentially could be the best coaching staff ever at LSU.
I'm liking it. McCarthy is the only pre-existing coach I haven't heard great things about (just his relationship with the players - not coaching abilities), and I really like the new hires.
I really like Stud & think he's a great coach, but I have to say the OL underperformed this year - not last year though.
Not sure about the O-line being that much of a disappointment. Put a QB like Flynn back there who knows how to read defenses and get the ball out quickly and we don't see near as much pressure on the QB. And we sure weren't bad at running the ball this year. Just like pressure from the D to get to the QB is a 2 headed-monster based consisting of D-line and D-backs, the same holds true for giving up pressure on the offensive side of the ball. Namely, the line and the QB's decision making process.
Only this year, I think. Even then, when they were good, they were good. But they slacked out there too much.
I have to find out what kind of guy Brick is, I have an uncle who has been a DB coach at a couple of universities, thats good friends with Brick.
I think we're all salivating over next season like a starving dog over a tasty pork chop. With our new coaches and promising players, I'm more excited over next season than I can ever remember. I'll be very surprised if we aren't favored in the West.
