no such thing as too close to action in a baseball game.

I've been playing my entire life as well, and pay attention to the game quite religiously.
However, the empty seat right next to me at Zephyr got lit up by a liner that I would have never caught nor avoided if headed right at me.

Of course I still sit there every chance I get.

In the early 90's, Adrian Antonini hit a foul ball that flew around the net at the Box on the first base side and hit some poor guy square in the nose about 10 rows south of where my seats were. Blood was everywhere.

I've been very heads-up at baseball games since then.

I got to keep the foul ball that hit the seat next to me.
It hit kinda at the top of the seat and shot almost straight up. Landed in the row behind us.

By the time I reached for it, it was already heading skyward.
Meaning I would have gotten tagged in the chest if it had come right at me instead

If you're standing on the field, maybe a little closer to the plate than the pitcher, you have a big camera instead of a glove, and Brad Cresse's at bat....trust me, there's too close.:)

Do you bring your glove to the game?

Kinda hard to eat a hotdog with that thing on.

We're in Baton Rouge for a wedding this weekend, so we stopped by campus today to let my daughter see Mike, and I got a nice glimpse of the new Box. It looks nice! Who knows when I'll get to see a game in there, but it definitely looks like a good upgrade for the baseball team.

Mike was quite active today, roaming around the entire habitat and even took a short swim despite it being about 50 degrees.
