This is what happens when you really aren't respected for most of the season. It probably hasn't been until recently that any of the voters started to look at Nevis, whereas they have been watching some of the other players all season. A case of a little too little too late. It's jacked up thats for sure, especially since that azz hat Fairley is a finalist. Was listening to the local ESPN radio show just a bit ago and the guys were talking about how dirty he and AU are. They were also talking about the BCS scenerios that are left out there. Couldn't believe that Ore gained ground given how they played. Were pimping LSU as being the BCS voters ace in the hole should AU or Ore stumble. Stating that LSU is the safety value to make sure that it doesn't end up BSU and TCU. Also, stated that it would be a major uproar if LSU jumps them.
Well, if I was Nevis....I'd sure start Body slamming QBs and spearing them in the back way after the play is over....If that's what you're supposed to do to be one of the best in the nation.
Well maybe that is what Dorsey used to do and we just don't remember it that way. I mean he did take a few QB's out. Nah Miles wouldn't allow it.
If Nevis played for bsu or tcu he would be the front runner. They all hate us because we beat all of their media favorites
Fairley plays on a team with an offense. LSU is 9-1 because of their defense with much of the credit going to Nevis. It shouldn't even be close.
Fairley is coming off as dirty right now, but what you call a pile drive some might call a perfect form tackle. And what looks like him going after someones legs in slow mow is really him just rushing the blocking. Legs get hurt all the time when linemen fall wrong. I truly believe AU and Fairly are playing to hurt people at times, but perception is a bitch and others might not see it our way is all I am saying.
Picking a quarterback off the ground and suplexing him isn't a form tackle. Also going after quarterbacks well after the ball is thrown is dirty. It is also dirty to try and grind your face mask on the face of another player when you are getting off of him. It is also dirty to throw your head at a player's leg. It is also dirty to drive your helmet through a player into the ground. Everything he does is dirty. And he doesn't have to be, that is the saddest part of all. He could eliminate that part of his game and still be awesome. But you can take the thug out the hood, you can't take the hood out the thug. Drake is getting shafted because he has done everything right, and his stats other than 3 sacks are better in every category than Fairley's stats.
I agree Nevis is getting the royal shaft But I also don't think Fairley is all at fault, some of the plays are legal and just dirty. And until the NCAA changes the rules, people will still be coached to do it. Don't get me wrong, I am not defending the dude, I think he is playing dirty. Just saying others might look at it differently. And if he played for LSU, we may be singing a different song.
