and if you look at their stats, Nevis has better numbers except for 3 less sacks, and Nevis has 2 forced fumbles, Fairley has none. Nevis has more tackles in less games also.
Nevis should be a finalist, but I wonder if because Fairley and Nevis play in the SEC, and played each other had something to do with it. Fairley was clearly the bigger impact in the Auburn game. I think Fairley needs to get coached up on playing a bit cleaner, because he sure does seem dirty, but that could be how he is coached at Auburn. The refs are clearly letting him get away with it, something that would be huge penalties in the NFL.
Fairley is THE DIRTIEST player in the NCAA. Karma if a MF......and its heading Auburn's way, it just can't happen fast enough.
I would love to see Fairley win the award and slip on the podium going to accept it, tear his knee up, and never get to play again. That would be justice. Either that or Fairley and Chaz Ramsey in a fight to the death.
You mean the unnecessary pile drive into the ground of Jarrett Lee and then later on in the game going after his knees? Yeah, I guess you could say that.
Using numbers...Nevis is having just as good a year, if not better, than Dorsey did his senior year. Of course, Dorsey was often hurt and being triple teamed all year...dunno. Seems he should not only be a finalist for the award but a front runner.
