Reggis Hunt is a threat to go tho the house on every play. He averaged like 10 yards a carry last year.

The only problem is his size. He is listed somewhere around 5'10'' 180 lbs. I think it is more like 5'8'' 165.

He would be a great pickup to play a number of roles like Holliday.

Well, with dismissing 3 players from the team this semester, we should now expect 18-21 commitments.

Going off of your original list:

    QB's (1-2)

I think we're in great shape with Darron Thomas. Currently, of all the QB's that we have offered, Thomas is the only one that lists us #1. I know that can, and probably will change (w/reguard to where we rank on the other QB's top choices).

Obviously, all of the QB's we've offered would be nice to have, but personally, I like having options...and by that, I like a healthy mix of both styles of QB (pro-style and dual-threat) on roster. I just think that you offer more looks as an offense, and it gives you more options if say, your original plan on offense isn't cutting it due to talent or scheme.

    RB (1)

We may not even get one....unless something surprising happens b/w now and signing day. We've only offered schollies to 3 RB's. Calhoun is an OU commit. Justin Rodgers from B'ham lists 'Bama and Clemson as "co-favorites" and it would be tough to lure an Alabama runningback away from the Tide considering they lost Darby, and don't have the depth of talent at the position like we have. And as for Scott...well, we've never really been able to snare a California blue chip player (and hold on to them), and I'm just not expecting that to change this year.

    WR's (3)

I think we're going to be in good shape with the Louisiana boys (Byrd and Tolliver) and perhaps with DeAndre Brown's connection with Richard Dickson (who is from Ocean Springs--same as Brown) will help us out there, too.

    OL (5)

With Lonergan and Spencer already in the fold, that takes care of the OG's. But getting OT's is going to be tough as three of the 8 OT's that we've offered are in Alabama, 3 of the 8 are already Ohio State commits (what's up with that, huh?) . I think we'll be ok with Daniel Cambell from Aldine, TX--especially if we get a commitment from QB Darron Thomas--who's also from Aldine... We'll also have our work cut out for us if we want to land Greg Shaw from Miami.

    LB (2-3)

Getting ILB is going to be tough outside of Kellen Theriot who's already committed. Only 3 ILB's currently have LSU offers and one of them is already an FSU commit and the other 2 are teammates from Youngstown, OH--Jim Tressel's backyard.

    DB's (2-3)

Duplessis fills the need for depth at safety for the future but we need to go strongly after cover-corners in this class. We are already walking a fine line at the position for '08 when it's probably going to be Euegene and Phelon Jones--both of which haven't played a down yet. Keeping Robby Green from John Curtis instate is going to be tough as USC is starting to recruit him hard and the fact that JT Curtis is a "snake" to begin with, who's going to try his hardest to push his kids to either USC or 'Bama.

I suspect it will end up being a full 25 class, but I'm not sure.

From what I know about Darron right now, I'd be dissapointed if we sign him as a QB. I hear he projects better as a WR. It appears that Florida St is the leader for Manuel, which means we won't likely sign a top flight QB this class.

It's hard to imagine us going 2 straight years without signing a RB, especially as we lose 2 after this year to graduation. With next year's banner class of RBs in La, it may not be that big of a reach - though I've heard many of them may have grade issues.

They might be cousins, I'm pretty sure they aren't brothers. Marcus has been alright at Ole Miss, but wouldn't be in the 2 deep here. Bo is supposed to be better than Marcus though. I don't know anything about Aljoshua. Our depth chart at DLine may scare them off.

We actually recruited Steven Ridley in this past class as a RB (other schools wanted him at LB...which, he still might end up as one later on...)

We're not as thin at RB as the "2 straight years without signing a RB" would suggest....

Keiland, Charles Scott, Richard Murphy and RJ Jackson will all have AT LEAST 2 more seasons after this year. Add Ridley in that mix and there are numbers.

Ridley was originally recruited as a Hester-type FB, but at the recruiting bash it listed him as a LB, so I think we may have backed off that idea.

We're definitely not thin at RB. We've got 2 good ones that will be sophmores next year & one that's only a redshirt freshman. None the less, with the injuries that tend to happen to RBs in the SEC, it's rare to see teams go two straight years without signing any.

Ridley was told he was playing LB.
