Our son wants to redo his bedroom in an LSU theme, and on one wall, he wants to put the 50-yard line Eye of the Tiger. Any ideas on how I can come up with a stencil for that?
if hes a fine art major then i change and say free hand. but if not, project it. which is kinda ironic that i would say that for two reasons. one, its common sense, which i often dont have. and two, im a fine arts major.:hihi:
There's a lady near where I live who painted it on a friend's wall for a small fee. I plan to get her to do my son's room. I imagine it can't be too difficult for someone with a slight bit of talent.
or if you don't want to paint it, try something like this -- Wallbangers | Home Page (this link was the european version, but i know there was an american distributor as well.) they can make a vinyl screen of anything and you jsut stick it to the wall. Get a good image of the Eye and go from there.
Don't spend too much time and money. In a few years he will paint it black and cover it with posters of rock stars and models anyway. The easy way would be to get a good digital copy of the eye logo or scan one. Enlarge it to the size you need and print it out on a color printer on stickyback paper, trim it and stick it up. If you want to hand paint it, since nobody owns carbon paper or a projector anymore, then print the logo on paper, punch lines of pinholes along the design lines, tape the paper up to the wall then pat it with charcoal dust or graphite in a cloth rag. It will mark the design onto the wall as a line of tiny dots that you can use as a guide to paint the logo. This is how Michaelangelo transferred his sketches to the ceiling of the Sistine chapel, so it comes highly recommended.
The posters are fine, but I'll draw the line at black walls. And a projector won't be a problem; my wife's a teacher. I figured this would be the way to go, but I wanted to see if someone would come up with something better. We won't discuss Michaelangelo, seeing as the Pope won't be paying for this one. Thanks for the input, everyone. And JayB, good to see you back!
