I am playing in a high dollar keeper league. We can keep three of our players from last year, as long as you give up your pick in the round you originally drafted them in. So here is my last year's final roster and the slot I drafted them in: Swamp Trash PLAYER COST TO KEEP B. Favre Waivers S. McNair Waivers S. Jackson 1st W. Parker 2nd T. Henry 13th J. Addai 6th D. Driver 4th E. Kennison 5th M. Jenkins Waivers L. Coles 8th M. Stover 15th G. Jennings Waivers T. Heap Waivers DST Raiders Waivers DST Chargers Waivers Obviously I am stacked with RB's. On first reaction, I would keep Jackson, Parker, and Addai, which means I would give up my 1st, 2nd, and 6th round picks for a killer RB crew. However, notice Henry sitting down as a 13th round pick. Ever since he went to the Broncos, most experts have him as their 10-15th best overall RB. So what I'm thinking is this: give up Willie Parker and keep Henry. This way, I'll still have an outstanding RB crew, and will only have to give up my 1st, 6th, and 13th round picks, allowing me to focus on top receivers in the 2nd and 3rd rounds. So what do you guys think?
i would def. keep jo addai, because you won't get someone that good if you use your original 6th round pick. i would probably keep stephen jackson, too, because no one will give up anything better than him, so a 1st round pick isn't THAT valuable. the third one is a toughy, though... what happens if you keep a "waiver"
i would probably keep the chargers' defense. those guys are a fantasy defense dream with the sacks and the turnovers. most of the times in the league's like this, it isn't who has the best QBs and RBs who wins (although that obviously helps), it's who has the best defenses, kickers, and tight ends, who can chip away the small points and put you on top. to be able to do this accurately, though, you'd need to give us a rough list of who is in the draft... we don't know what round pick is valuable and what isn't.
Remember I can only keep three, so the only wise choice is to keep Jackson, Addai, and Parker, or to keep Jackson, Addai, and Henry. Or to sum up: keep Parker, drop Henry, and lose a 2nd round pick, or keep Henry, drop Parker, and keep the 2nd round pick. With Henry running for the Broncos, I'm thinking that dropping Parker would be a smart choice.
if we are choosing between the 4 rbs, it is a tough decision, but i would probably go with Parker, because the Broncos still have Mike Bell and all of the other guys in their stable, so I would think Parker would get more reps than Henry.
what is the make up of your weekly roster? Parker, Addai, and Jackson are all top 10 backs and I'd keep them. Especially if you can start all 3 every week.
The active roster is 1QB, 2RB, 3WR.TE, 1K, 1Def. Yeah that would've been sweet to play all three. Since I can only play two, one has to be on the bench, which is why I'm leaning towards cutting Parker and using the 2nd round pick for an elite WR. If either Addai or Jackson gets injured, Henry playing for the Broncos is still a solid replacement.
yep. if you had the opportunity to use a flex I'd say keep Parker, Addai, and SJ. Since you can't I agree with you. Keep Addai, SJ, and Henry. I worry a bit about the durability of Addai, but when you look at giving up a 2 for Parker or 6 for Addai it makes Addai a much better value in my eyes.
