Need a lil' help from my Tiger friends here

    Okay, I'm not pulling on any legs here or trying to stir-up any shyte, but someone on our board asked me the entomology of the rude nickname others have for LSU fans, "Corndogs".

    I remember reading on this forum (or another TigerBait?) that it was pretty uncertain but some thought it was an Ole Miss sports writer who first coined the name a couple of decades ago.

    Can anyone provide a definitive answer that might shed some light.

    It really doesn't make much sense when you think about it. For one thing I personally really like piping-hot corndogs with a dipping sauce of yellow mustard and tabasco, so how is that an insult??? :insane:

    I asked this very question several weeks ago. Some say it originated with Auburn, others say it was an OU slur for Nebraska fans, still others say Auburn borrowed it from OU. Regardless, I agree that it's really stupid. There's always the tried and true L-S-Who? chant after all. :LSU231:

    You'll get better responses Hector if you don't use words like entomology. It makes us uncomfortable. And besides, we don't like to study insects, we just step on them or fry them and eat them...
